I study the impacts of Chinese development finance on recipient countries around the world, besides the spatial structure of cities, quality of public services, and forced displacement on economic and social outcomes, particularly gender equality.

I am Senior Research Scientist at AidData, a research lab at William & Mary, where I lead the Chinese Development Finance Program that uses pioneering methods to track and analyze underreported financial flows from non-traditional donors to developing countries.
